Anthony
A 27 yr old single male diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Prior to diagnosis worked 2 jobs. No family nearby to assist him. Underwent chemo and Stem Cell Transplant in January and still unable to work due to deteriorated immune system and receiving platelet and other infusions 2x a month. (May 2023)

Brock
A 32 yr old married father of 3 diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Was a full-time employee making airplane parts. Underwent chemo and Stem Cell Transplant. Now driving 3x a week1 hour away for additional treatments.  (Apr 2023)

Cassandra
A 39 yr old mother of 3 diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was a full-time employee of Atrium Health, now on disability. Husband is a police detective for Cabarrus and having to constantly take off work to drive her to all appointments 3 times a week. (Apr 2023)

Chantia
A 39 yr old mother of 2 diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She was an assistant teacher for CMS. Two years prior to this diagnosis, she was diagnosed with Breast CA where she underwent a Bilateral Mastectomy and chemotherapy.  Now with the current diagnosis, once again doing chemotherapy. Kristan
A 36 yr old single mother of 4 diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. She worked full time in a management position prior to being diagnosed.  Underwent chemotherapy, Stem Cell Transplant and then had to resume additional chemo treatments which put her into heart and liver failure and was hospitalized again. (Mar 2023)

Tia
31 yr old female, mother of 2 diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She was a full-time student working part time. In Sept 2022 underwent chemotherapy then Stem Cell Transplant. (Mar 2023)

Brittany
36 yr old female, mother of a 4 month old, diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Prior to being diagnosed she worked 1 full-time and 1 part-time job and had just purchased a home. Started treatment in Sept 2022 and will have chemo treatments through 2023. (Dec 2022)

Britney
34 yr old female, divorced mother of 4 was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She has undergone chemo, mastectomy, radiation, and then multiple rounds of immunotherapy. She was driving 90 minutes to her treatments. Due to her husband no longer part of their lives, her grandparents looked after the 4 children while she was going through her treatments. (Dec 2022)

Jennifer 
A 38 yr old dental hygienist and single mother of 1, diagnosed with Thrombocythemia (a blood cancer). She will be on an oral chemotherapy drug for life. Due to the initial strong side effects, she was unable to attend work full time and was only paid for hours worked. This caused her to fall behind in mortgage payments.  (Oct 2022)

Zachary 
A 29 yr old medical resident at Atrium Healthcare, father of a 1 yr old, was diagnosed with Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia.  He is undergoing 3 months of intense chemotherapy in order to have a Bone Marrow Transplant at which time he will need to be quarantined for 6 months and still unable to return to work. Justin
A 35 yr old male, father of 3, diagnosed with Myeloid Leukemia after injuring himself while on his plumbing job.  His injury became septic and lead to his current diagnosis. He will be on an oral chemo drug for life which has many strong side effects.  As an hourly employee and sole provider for his family, his hours of work have been greatly affected due to the side effects and numerous medical appointments. (Oct 2022)

Joseph 
A 37 yr old male that moved from New York to Charlotte, along with his 8 year old son, to care for his critically ill mother. After suffering numerous stomach issues, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. His chemo treatment is currently bi-weekly until such time as the surgical Oncologist decides his tumor has shrunk enough for surgery. Now the tables have turned, and his mother is caring for him and his son. (Sept 2022)

Marquita 
A 38-year-old woman, single mother of 3, who was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. Due to chemotherapy and recent Stem Cell Transplant, she has had to take a leave of absence for at least 6 months. (August 2022)  

Anthony 
A 42 yr old married male, father of 2, is a caregiver to ill and elderly patients, as is his wife. He was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia and is undergoing IV chemo one month on, one month off plus oral chemo 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Due to the treatment time needed in the clinic and all the side effects, he is unable to work. (August 2022)

Moffatt  
A 37 yr old married female and mother of 1 diagnosed with Stage 3 Ductal Carcinoma.  She had a bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy that required her to take a 6 month leave of absence from her job at a financial services company. (July 2022)

Antwon 
A 38-year-old Mecklenburg Sheriff’s Department employee with 4 children was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, Nodular Lymphocyte in 2017. It has now reoccurred and with having chemotherapy followed by Stem Cell Transplant, he has had to take a leave of absence for a minimum of 6 months. (July 2022)

William  
A 30-year-old man who had leukemia and now is in remission after a bone marrow transplant. He has developed a graft versus host disease that creates eye issues that affects his ability to work full-time. His mother and father have both died within the last 3 years of cancer. (April 2022)

Tracy
A 31-year-old woman who had to quit her job as a flight attendant. She has one remaining kidney and that was a transplant from her father at the age of 5. That kidney grew a cancerous tumor which a surgeon had to remove this Spring. She is now being observed to make sure the kidney does not reject.   (April 2022)

Tejas 
A technology worker in his early 40’s, divorced and with a 10-year-old son. He has Stage 4 colon cancer, undergoing bi-weekly chemo treatment, and unable to work. (April 2022)
