How to Apply for Financial Assistance
The Meggs Foundation provides direct emergency financial assistance to young adults in the Greater Charlotte area who are currently undergoing medical treatment for cancer and are having difficulty making day-to-day living expenses. Qualified candidates for assistance need to make a clear and direct connection between current financial difficulties and the onset of medical treatment (eg. Lost wages, high medical bills, limited ability to work because of side effects).
We have entered into a referral agreement with Levine Cancer Institute to identify qualified candidates but we accept financial assistance applications from any patient who qualifies.
The procedure for providing financial assistance will be determined as an ongoing process tailored to current circumstances and conditions. We expect that financial assistance will range from $1,500-$5,000 over a three to six month period.
Funding is not provided specifically for medical bill payments, but we will pay for a wide variety of day-to-day living expenses that will help mitigate the financial burden of your treatment. For more information, or to apply for assistance, please click one or more of the appropriate links below.
